Muestra de Musica Joven de Utrera

Con ese horroroso nombre, la asociación "Mostachón Rock", ha preparado un festival variopinto para el próximo 18 de Julio en la Caseta Municipal, de Utrera, por supuesto.
Habrá 2 actuaciones de Hip-Hop, 2 de Flamenco y 3 de Rock, que son las que nos interesan. Y como son las que nos interesan vamos a utilizar aquí el cartel alternativo que nos manda Carlos, de "La Huella Muda".

Lo próximo que se editará del Tarzán de Detroit es un DVD con un concierto, que hizo el numero 6000 en su carrera, que se grabó el pasado 4 de Julio (dia de la independencia en USA)en su ciudad natal. El título será "Motor City Mayhem" y se pondrá a la venta el próximo 30 de Junio. En el concierto participaron con el Derek St. Holmes, John Bee Bandanjek de "Detroit Wheels" y el primer profesor de guitarra de Ted Nugent Joe Podorsek.

THE MIDNIGHT TRAVELLERS son una referencia ineludible si hablamos de Hard Rock hecho en la peninsula. Qué coño, son, o al menos deberían ser por méritos propios, todo un referente del ROCK duro actual, ya que pueden, de sobra zamparse a cualquier guiri huelemelnabo de los que asoman la gaita por los medios y con los que chorrean los plumíferos del rock. Y "uncommon sense", su celebrado último plástico, está todavía vigente, y lo está porque es, desde ya, un clásico. Vuelven al barrio en lo que significa el shinde del entrañable Dave Shadow, baterista cofundador. Entrañable. Ya sólo por esto bien merecen la pierna las pocas cifras que cuesta el recital. Joselín Turner

Tantas expectativas habia puesto en este concierto que, quizas por eso, me defraudó enormemente. La banda no transmitia nada, no enganchaba, y Joselín Turner, que así lo llamaban mis colegas de Los Palacios, canta menos que un grillo "pisoteao". El repertorio era para lucirse, para meterse a la gente en el bolsillo desde el primer acorde de "Mob Rules", "Shot In The Dark", "Highway Star" o "Long Live Rock&Roll", pero les faltó actitud, algo que echo en falta ya en muchas bandas, y sobre todo le falto una gran voz, como la que esperabamos de Joselín. El publico cantó mas que él, que se dedicó a practicar todo tipo de poses manidas ya. La sala estaba llena, cosa que me hace pensar que todos tenian las mismas expectativas que yo, pero la mayoria de la gente me consta que disfrutó, o al menos lo parecía. ¿Me estaré volviendo muy exigente?. Quizás.

Lilith y AC/DC

LILITH será la banda encargada de abrir los shows de AC/DC en Madrid y Barcelona, los días 5 y 7 de Junio respectivamente. LILITH que está presentando su nuevo disco "Sal Si Puedes" es la primera banda del estado que comparte escenario con los australianos. Empezarán a las 18:45h. Mas info en Lilith Rock

Si hay un concierto que no nos queremos perder esta temporada es el que tendrá lugar el proximo viernes en la Sala Q de Sevilla. Ya lo venimos anunciando desde que llegó a nuestros oidos y lo confirmamos con la sala. Desde el 21 de Mayo están en España y a Sevilla llegarán el próximo Viernes, a partir de las 21:00 horas, y además de los ya anunciados Big Noize estarán los gaditanos Handful of Rain abriendo. La fiesta se amplia aun más y tras las actuaciones habrá una fiesta de presentacion del festival Metalway 2009, con buena musica y regalos para los presentes.

Festival Lago de Bornos

El mítico y afortunadamente "resucitado" Festival Del Lago De Bornos, en su tercera edición de la nueva andadura, nos trae este año a los legendarios Focus, la banda holandesa liderada por el gran teclista y flautista Thijs Van Leer, a quien muchos recordareis, aparte de por sus creaciones en esta banda, por haber tocado durante mucho tiempo con Miguel Ríos. También estarán los grandes Mezquita, una banda que me encantaría volver a ver después de tanto tiempo. Y la tercera formación del cartel es una banda de las zona llamada Marujita, que fusionan flamenco y rock.
